About me
Merche Moriana (Spain, 1994) is a visual artist who uses photography as a mean to represent and reflect on her own experiences and concerns.
Using a wide range of colors, textures and elements, Merche reinterprets the aesthetics of art history genres to create staged images establishing links between past and present narratives under an illusory and mysterious atmosphere.
She has exhibited her work in several solo and group exhibitions in national and international Art Centers such as: Escuela Apertura (Málaga, Spain), Bresciani Gallery (Rome, Italy), Palazzo Merulana (Rome, Italy), Rampa Gallery (Linares, Jaén), La Casa delle Culture (Magenta, Italy), Centro Carmen de Burgos (Baeza, Jaén), Colección Museográfica de Casariche (Seville) and has received several international awards such as the Gold Medal at the One Eyeland Portrait Awards being first in the ranking of Spain, the Silver Medal at the WPE Awards in Paris or the Bronze Medal at the BIFA Awards in Budapest.
Her most recent work "Oscura Luce" has been in an exhibition at the Italian Museum La Casa del Conte Verde in Rivoli, Italy.
Merche Moriana (España, 1994) es una artista visual que utiliza la fotografía como medio para representar y reflexionar sobre sus propias vivencias e inquietudes.
Usando una amplia gama de colores, texturas y elementos, Merche reinterpretar la estética de los géneros de la historia del arte para crear imágenes escenificadas estableciendo vínculos entre narrativas pasadas y presentes bajo un ambiente ilusorio y de misterio.
Ha expuesto su obra en diversas muestras individuales y colectivas en Centros de Arte nacionales e internacionales como: Escuela Apertura (Málaga, España), Galería Bresciani (Roma, Italia), Palazzo Merulana (Roma, Italia), Galería Rampa (Linares, Jaén), La Casa delle Culture (Magenta, Italia), Centro Carmen de Burgos (Baeza, Jaén), Colección Museográfica de Casariche (Sevilla) y ha recibido varios premios internacionales como la Medalla de Oro en los Premios One Eyeland de retrato quedando primera en el ranking de España, la Medalla de Plata en los WPE Awards de París o la Medalla de bronce en los Premios BIFA de Budapest.
Su trabajo más reciente, "Oscura Luce", se ha expuesto recientemente en el museo italiano La Casa del Conte Verde de Rivoli (Italia).
